Palayesh Parsian Sepehr Gas Refining Company is among the country’s most modern gas refineries. It was established in 1389 and commenced operations in 1400. With two operational sites in Mohr, Fars Province, and Assaluyeh, Bushehr Province, and employing advanced cryogenic technology, the complex processes millions of cubic meters of rich gas per day and produces high-value products such as ethane, propane, butane, and gas condensate.
The company’s feedstock is supplied from the Tabnak, Homa, Shanol, and Varavi gas fields. After processing, sweet methane is injected into the national grid, and ethane is transferred as feedstock to petrochemical plants. Propane and butane are exported as LPG, and gas condensate is also exported, together playing an important role in generating foreign currency for the country.
With an annual capacity of approximately 3.3 million tons of hydrocarbon products, Parsian Sepehr Refining makes a significant contribution to completing the gas value chain and to the development of the petrochemical industry. The company is implementing major expansion projects to produce propylene and polypropylene, with the aim of reducing raw-material sales and creating greater added value.
Adherence to safety and environmental standards, the prevention of hundreds of thousands of tons of greenhouse-gas emissions, and the creation of hundreds of direct and indirect jobs in the region reflect the company’s commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility. Today, Parsian Sepehr Refining is recognized as a successful model in Iran’s gas-refining industry.
