Company History

Parsian Sepehr Gas Refining Company was established in 1389 (Solar Hijri calendar) with the objective of extracting ethane and natural gas liquids from rich gas produced by the Tabnak, Homa, Shanol, and Varavi fields. Following the transfer of shares to Tadbir Energy Development Group in 1393, project execution commenced in earnest.

The project comprised the construction of two operational sites:

  • Mohr site in Fars Province, dedicated to methane separation and sweet gas production.

  • Assaluyeh site in the Pars Special Economic Zone, dedicated to the final fractionation of ethane, propane, butane, and gas condensate.

Construction began in 1394 and—despite sanctions and constraints stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic—entered operation in Khordad 1400. This project is regarded as one of the flagship initiatives of the country’s “Second Petrochemical Leap,” playing a pivotal role in supplying feedstock to petrochemical complexes nationwide and increasing exports of hydrocarbon products.

Today, drawing on advanced cryogenic technology and the expertise of domestic specialists, Parsian Sepehr Gas Refining Company is recognized as one of Iran’s most technologically advanced gas refineries, progressing along the path of sustainable development and the completion of the gas value chain.
